Our "Celebrating the Arts" Day Habilitation Program is a full day NYS Medicaid Wavered Program. The program runs from 9am to 2pm, Monday through Friday, all year long. Our participants in the program range from students transitioning out of high school to senior citizens. The program is structured similar to a school day. Students with similar interests are joined together in small groups to participate in hour long classes. After the hour long class students switch to a different classroom to explore a different Art discipline for the following hour. Our diversity of classes in Music, Dance, Theater, Visual Arts, Creative Writing, and Media Studies are based on a two month theme that is collectively decided by staff and students alike. Previous themes have explored the history and Arts forms of the Renaissance, Impressionism, Rogers and Hammerstein, the Roaring 20's and more.
